Internet Marketing Strategies From a Fresh Perspective

After 3 more months of work on my new internet marketing business I now feel more confident that I understand the industry. At least a lot more than when I started.

This is a big learning curve and one thing for sure is that it’s changing very quickly. Much of what is offered up as training on internet marketing strategies is a few years old and probably worked then but not necessarily now. I have learnt to try to date the training to understand if it is of much use. Bonus products generally fall into the “old” category and that’s why they are essentially being given away.

Some examples of new information can be found in forums. You can join usually for free and learn by reading the posts which have the date on them.

I like the Warrior Forum. It’s also good to go there for reviews on any product your are thinking of purchasing. You can usually see if it’s a good one by the commentary.

The Challenge also has a good forum which you access when you sign up with them.

Another source of free info is getting onto mailing list of internet marketers who are offering real value to their subscribers rather than just trying to sell them the latest affiliate products.

A couple I can recommend are;

Take Over Page One (The Marketing Assassins)

The Bum Marketer – Travis Sago

Both offer excellent info and don’t try to sell you all the time. They do have products they recommend from time to time. I feel I can trust these recommendations because of the value I have received from them so far.

If you do have money to invest I think it is best to use it for the tools you will need to support you internet business. The Market Samurai is an absolute must when it comes to keyword research. It has so many features to help you track and promote your websites that I can’t imagine trying to be competitive in this industry without a tool like this.

Some of the other products I have purchased are:

Link Juicer – A backlink generating tool.

Web Traffic Genius – RSS feed automated software

I have also signed up with Bring The Fresh which is a paid course that has helped me with their videos about SEO. As a result I got 2 of my sites ranking on Googles first page within 2 weeks of starting them.

These are not all the paid products I have used but they are the ones I can recommend that have given results. Some others I have purchased have not worked for me.

One of the main internet marketing strategies that’s almost universally promoted is that to get anywhere in this industry to simply learn is not enough. You have to take action! Action causes you to learn much quicker and only action will get you any results.

Internet Marketing Strategies for Success

The statistics for success in internet marketing like many other business enterprises are very low. I’ve heard it claimed that only 2% of people who start an internet marketing business actually make it profitable. That seems a very low rate but it doesn’t surprise me because I have experienced those kinds of statistics with other business ventures. Network marketing for instance has a similar rate of success or failure and I know this from personal experience having built a network in the thousands and had the opportunity to observe how many actually went on to build the business to profitability. Traditional business has even more failures and more upfront risks.

So the question is what does it take to build a successful internet marketing business and where do I find the answer to that question? Since I started looking into this industry a little over three months ago I have been bombarded with a phenomenal amount of information about how to succeed. Whose system or method works best? It is difficult to work out what is real from what is hype because all too often those presenting you with their message are mostly interested in how much you’ll pay to hear it.

Having said that I have made some mistakes following things that didn’t work for me and I have also found some tremendous sources of information that are offered up for free. I have concentrated on free sources to start with because after making early mistakes by purchasing information products based on the sales hype of the seller I have found to my cost that I didn’t really know what I needed to know to get going and you are so easily overloaded with information that you don’t go anywhere.

Free info lets me get a grasp on some core strategies and concepts so now when I am offered the latest new product that requires an investment, I can feel more confident in analyzing its real benefits.

One of the ways you get access to free information is as a preview of a product about to be launched. This method is very common giving people of great taste of what they might potentially purchase. Usually it is a basic understanding with more detail in the product itself.

Another source of great free information is when you need to use a certain software to help build your business and you get a full demonstration of how it works before you purchase it.  An example of that would be Market Samurai which has a free trial with very comprehensive free video trainings to demonstrate how the product works. Personally the videos were a ray of light helping me get to understand many important concepts about the internet and how it works.

Another great resource I’ve come across is called “The Challenge” which is a 3 month long comprehensive training on internet marketing. It is offered for free and takes you daily through a new step on the way to building a solid internet business.

I have decided to focus on these tools and training at the moment until I get the basics sorted. This is my first strategy to success. Try to limit your projects so you follow through on the one you are currently on.

I hope to share with you on this blog my progress mistakes and eventual success.

Here’s to your internet journey. I hope you find success too.
